Do you guys know what’s the most important thing which you guys usually ignore but needs to be taken care of? Well, it’s all about our healthy skin and for our body!!!
We all crave flawless, glowing skin but with all those new products coming in the market every day and endless skincare pieces of advice out there on the internet, it’s not easy nowadays to figure out the best skin care routine that’s going to work for you.
But don’t worry because I am here to help you and the best part is there is no need to spend tons of cash on any magical lotion or expensive creams to achieve flawless skin.
From choosing the right cream and cleanser for your skin type to the importance of cleaning your makeup brushes and other such products, these following easy tricks will help you and guide you to get glowing and healthy skin.
1) Use a correct cleanser according to your skin type
Choose your cleanser wisely so that it doesn’t leave your skin tight after washing. Clean your face no more than twice a day or if you have dry skin, then just once.
If you are one with oily or acne-prone skin, then a gel cleanser would be perfect for you. They provide a deep cleansing experience and unclog pores to keep acne away.
If you have oily and combination skin, then a foam cleanser is best for you because it helps to cleanse away oil, keeps your skin matte for a longer period of time, and also helps to cleanse away the oil from your skin.
If you have a dry and sensitive skin type, then a cream cleanser is good to go for you. As the name suggests, it is a rich cream-based formula, which provides an extra dose of hydration to your skin.
2) Shower or wash your face with lukewarm water (not hot!!)
Lukewarm is best because it allows the oil, which you have in your skin, to warm up a bit allowing a proper cleansing. To make the most out of your cleanser, keep massaging your skin at least for a minute!
3) Moisturize both day and night
The best and right times to moisturize your skin are right after you get out of the shower and right before you go to bed.
Note:- Please avoid lotions with heavy fragrances and make sure you find a moisturizer that is gentle enough for everyday use with zero irritation.
4) Limit your time in the sun
Yes, sunscreen is good and you should use it but now instead of that try to play hide and seek.
According to a report, 90% of skin aging is caused by the sun and not to mention the most scarier risk of skin cancer. So it’s better to limit your sun exposure.
And the most important thing is don’t forget to protect your eyes where you can’t apply sunscreen too!! Squinting doesn’t exactly protect your eyes and you might end up developing more lines and wrinkles around your eye and forehead area.
5) Don’t touch your face
Avoid touching your face because it’s very important. It can increase your wrinkles and results in scarring too. And do you guys know that there’s a type of acne called acne mechanica? It is caused by friction from touching the face and pushing oil and bacteria back into the pore. So avoid it.
6) Drink Water
A lack of water means less radiance. You should you makeup products wisely which have hydrating formulas.
At least you should drink 8 glasses of water per day. It might doesn’t directly hydrate your skin but it does help all of the body systems to function better.
It helps the liver in eliminating toxins from the body, reduces puffiness, helps with kidney function, and helps dark circles to appear lighter.
Now, the question that arises is how can you tell if you are drinking enough water or not? So the answer for this is, check your pee!! It’s time to drink up if you have a deep shade of amber. Your goal should be the color of lemonade.
7) Clean your makeup brushes regularly
To fight clogged pores and infection, washing your concealer and foundation brushes once a week is a must. Brushes which you use around your eyes should be washed twice per month, and for other brushes, once a month is fine. I will guide you on how to do that:
Put a drop of a mild shampoo on your palm of your hand. Wet the bristles with lukewarm water. Then, to distribute the shampoo into the brush, massage the bristles into your palm. Avoid getting the base of the brush hairs wet because the glue could soften and the bristles might fall off. Rinse the shampoo out and using a towel, squeeze out the water. In the end, with the bristles hanging off the edge, put the brushes to dry.
8) Find ways to manage stress
When you take stress, your body releases a hormone called cortisol. This hormone activates your fight response (which is obviously a good thing!) but constant stress keeps this response on fatigued overdrive (which is a bad thing!!).
When it comes to skin, increased levels of cortisol can cause to lose the glow by reducing the skin’s ability to retain moisture.
Beauty sleep is the real deal!! Sleep decreases the stress hormone cortisol and on the other hand, it increases the sleep hormone melatonin which acts as an antioxidant to fight fine lines, wrinkles, and skin cancer.
10) Use a silk or satin pillowcase while sleeping
If you’re a side sleeper, then your face would be constantly in contact with your pillow while sleeping, putting friction between the skin and fabric. Since we sleep for a prolonged period of time, it can result in wrinkles. But sleeping on a silk pillow minimizes the chances of getting wrinkles because the fabric allows your skin to “slip”
So guys try all these tricks to get flawless and glowing skin.:)
