Life Is Beautiful – The Most Underrated Pleasures Of Life

If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that anything can happen at any moment. That our whole existence is unpredictable. We never know what’s going to happen next, so it is important to take pleasure in the little things.

Green surrounding :

There are hundreds of reasons why having plants in your surroundings is good for you. And once you manage to grow a plant from seed you will experience a whole new feeling. Moreover, who doesn’t want a Pinterest-inspired bedroom or office with tons of plants?

Making others happy :

Isn’t making other people happy one of the happiest feelings? When someone says that you made their day or their mood was much better just because of your words. It makes your day as well. When someone genuinely laughs at your jokes. It just makes you feel so good about yourself for you made someone smile.

Finding your goal :

Many people live their lives as without really experiencing it. To enjoy your life to the fullest, you must find your purpose in life and make it your goal. When you work for this goal there is nothing more satisfying than tracking. That hard work and one day achieving that goal.

Doing nothing :

I know it contradicts the last point but some of us waste our lives working hard on something. And when we finally achieve it we realize that we forget living our lives and lose the very purpose for which we were working so hard. So, sometimes lying on the bed or sitting near your window, on a rainy day, without having to work or think about your problems. Even if it’s just for an hour, is one of the best feelings. Covered in a cozy blanket, watching your favorite movie or reading that one book which you always wanted to read. But never got the time is a different level of happiness.

Getting recognition from someone special :

We all like those “well done!” and “great job!” from our teachers and bosses. When someone better than us or someone with more experience recognizes and appreciates our work, it motivates us to work even harder. And we all have done that little dance in our heads after receiving all those compliments.

Good food after a tiring day :

Going to a restaurant and knowing what to order is like achieving a gold medal. And then getting what you ordered at the right time when your stomach cries for food and then taking the first bite of the food feels like heaven.

Warm showers :

A warm shower on a cold day feels like a spa experience. After a long and stressful day, a warm shower is all it takes to make us feel alive. It doesn’t matter if you sing, dance, or cry in the shower, once you get out, you feel like a brand new person.

Going to a park or picnic :

Seeing a little kid play, smile, and laugh innocently takes us on a nostalgic trip down the memory lane, where we remember some of our old childhood memories. Other than that, the fragrance of flowers and the smell of the fresh breeze refreshes our minds and bodies.

Babies :

A baby putting his or her head on your shoulder or holding your hands with his or her tiny little fingers is so satisfying. When babies try to walk or crawl or speak for the first time it is one of the happiest moments for their parents.
journaling

Journaling :

Watching a sunset with a cup of coffee and writing about your day in a journal seems like you are living in a 90s movie. But you don’t have to be so extra. Writing a journal just before bed or just as you wake up gives a sense of purpose for the day and makes you more productive and present at the moment. Along with that, writing about your problems helps you get at ease with it and you can get a better night’s sleep.

Appreciating all the ordinary experiences can help us realize the very essence of life. These small pleasures of life make every day more positive, protects us against stress and anxiety, and reduces our cravings for experiences that just look happy but are bad for us like, scrolling through social media, unnecessary shopping, eating junk food, because you’re getting plenty of pleasures hits from other experiences.
